“A Rising Tide Lifts All Boats”

I don’t know if it is because I really love music, or if I just have a lyrical illness. Regardless, without exception, every morning I wake up with a song in my head. To confess, more times than not, it is “Groove Is in The Heart” by Deee-Lite.  I can’t help but spread this magic everywhere I go. My first daily encounter is usually with my partner, who, by the time they arrive at work, is also singing “Groove Is in the Heart”.

Humans are designed to be contagious. Have you ever yawned while talking with someone and suddenly they are yawning too? Most of us forget what kind of influential power we have on one another. So, are you going to use your power to inspire, or tear another down?

Before you travel around meeting possible prospects today, consider how you show up. Can you empower someone today? Or are you dragging around the downer energy that the kids were late for school … again? What would happen if you went out of your way to be polite or kind where you normally wouldn’t? Is it possible that you could positively impact someone else’s day?

Here is my challenge for you. Every day, with a conscious mind, give away a good vibe. Maybe it is to the lady who pumps your gas that you can tell is having a crummy time. Or the fella at the grocery store who messed up your check out. What would he do with a joke? What would she do with a smile or a compliment?  If we do a little to inspire each other, there is no telling how much better we all become. “A Rising Tide Lifts All Boats” - JFK
